This “cheeseburger-stuffed pizza” from pizza hut is 2,880 calories. Calorically equal to 28 pounds of spinach. Yes, caloric density matters. Eat your vegetables!
Mindfulness/Spirituality
Inclusiveness expert Kamron Hack recently exposed me to the
Platinum Rule. The Golden Rule: “Treat others how you wish to be treated”. The Platinum Rule: “Treat others how they wish to be treated”. I like it better, don’t you?
Health/Wellness
My calm friend Thomas got a concussion in a car crash and came out punching at the air before collapsing unconscious. The excellent Netflix series
Last Chance U documents
Markiese King’s concussion that results in him trying to fight several other players a couple of hours later. Aaron Hernandez, an NFL player with a long history of repeated head trauma,
became a convicted killer. Seems pretty obvious to me that head trauma = violent outbursts.
Let’s not forget: padded helmets make people more willing to smash heads. Maybe instead of making football helmets “safer” we should, counterintuitively,
remove them altogether…

Reflection/Quote
“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work…rather, teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
I’m trying to incorporate this more into my parenting.
