☝️ Upwarding #62: Pictures (don’t) lie, Low back health, Don’t retire, Make mistakes

Picture

I believe that one of the biggest cultural problems in our country is the tunnel vision created by individuals who reinforce their beliefs through reading media that confirms their pre-existing views. Here are two pictures of Joe Biden on the exact same topic (his budget).  Can you guess which is by a left leaning media and which is by right leaning media?  Because both pictures are “true”.  The solution: read (without emotion) dissenting points of view.  I promise it’s a great use of time.
Health/Wellness
The best exercise regimen I know for low back pain is the McGill Big 3.  This one-minute video describes it perfectly.  It takes 5 minutes per day.

“Retirement’s a bad gig, Post” - John Grisham, the Guardians

This week I received pictures of my 83-year-old father attending a sales meeting that he drove 400 miles round trip to get to.  He is in great health, and I think his work ethic has something to do with it.  Retiring a year earlier increases your chance of death by 11%.

Random
Municipalities have begun naming their equipment. I love “Fuhgeddaplowdit” (New Paltz, NY) and “Plowy McPlowface” (St. Paul, MN).  Of course, the entrepreneurial side of me thinks they should sell off the naming rights.
