According to Harvard School of Public Health, berries are among the healthiest foods you can eat.  Also according to this, this, this, this, and this.  They do things like improve your blood sugar, help you lose weight, fight inflammation, and more.  They taste incredible too.

Money

The least expensive food per calorie is flour (4,464 calories per dollar).  Think Ramen. The most expensive, sadly, is a berry.  Raspberries are 13 calories per dollar.  If it’s all you ate for your calorie needs, you would blow $56,000/year.  A great hack – dried blueberries!  They taste better than raisins, and are a great deal at $13.85/pound -  about $3/pound for the equivalent of fully hydrated, or $3,000/year if that’s all you ate.

Blueberries aren’t ACTUALLY blue – they don’t contain blue pigment. Blue pigment doesn’t exist in nature – because blue is at the high end of the energy spectrum and too “expensive” to leave unused.  Instead blueberries use nanostructures to reflect blue light.
