☝️Upwarding #77: Reversible decisions, Chukars, 12 year olds, Blaming

Picture

This is a chukar.  Every one of the 2000+ counties in the country has an animal “most domesticated”.  It’s usually cattle, hogs, turkeys, sheep, etc.  However, in just one, Blair County, Pennsylvania, the leading candidate is a chukar.

Health/Wellness

The most satiating foods are: Spinach, Cottage Cheese, Salmon, and Shrimp

The least satiating foods are: M&Ms, Doritos, and Cheesecake

This explains why I’d still be hungry after eating a 1500 calories movie sized bag of M&Ms…which I won’t admit I’ve ever done.

Money

Technically during this recent inflation, wages have kept up with prices – and yet people are still mad.  It turns out like in everything else in life, people explain things in a way that makes them come out on top: “people blame the government for the pain of inflation, but give themselves credit for the raises”.

Random

It didn’t used to be unusual for 12-year-olds to babysit. Now more than two-thirds of American parents think kids should be 12 or older before they’re left home alone.

Reflection/Quote

“It's more advantageous to structure decisions to be easily reversible than to take too much time trying to make the perfect choice.” – Shane Parrish
