☝️Upwarding by Chris Kawaja #85: John Does, Longest-distance Animals, and Unemotional Gas Prices

Picture

Here are three stories about animals that traveled long distances: a cat (900 miles), an emperor penguin (2,000 miles) , and a sea turtle (5,000 miles).

Health/Wellness

Apparently people who complete the phrase “I’m glad I’m not _____” feel much happier than those who complete the phrase “I wish I were ____”. One emphasizes gratitude, the other lack.

Money

Years ago I bought a small oil royalty stream.  It’s had the interesting side effect that I don’t care about gas prices – when they go up I pay more for gas, but my royalties go up too.

Random

Most Countries have an equivalent for “John Doe”.  Russia = “Ivan Ivanovich”, Italy = “Mario Rossi”, Spanish Speaking “Fulano de Tal”, Germany “Max Mustermann”.

Reflection/Quote

“The greatest emperors crown themselves” – Robert Greene.  I love this one for acting “as if” something is already done.  People will believe you to a wild extent.
