☝️Upwarding by Chris Kawaja #83: Vampire Bats, Seeking Unintended Car Seat Consequences, Chinese Curses.

Picture

Keep this picture of a RELATIVELY cute vampire bat in mind as you read this next sentence.  Not only do these bats fly, they can also run (very quickly) behind you and bite your ear.

Health/Wellness

Multitasking is bad for your attention but my vice of combining cadio and media consumption is a great exercise “hack”.  I do over 30% of my exercise while checking email, listening to podcasts, or watching games.

Money

Reminder: If you hear of a way to make a lot of money quickly – it will almost always become either unprofitable, filled with scams, or insanely competitive.  Think: Amazon DropShipping (unprofitable), Memecoins (scams), and becoming an influencer (competitive).  Remember - “Don’t give up the day job” -origin unknown.

Random

We often think of the expense of having kids as creating our lower birthrates.  But an underrated reason?  Car seat laws which make it extremely hard for a three-child family to fit the kids in the back of a typical car.

Reflection/Quote

You may know the first Chinese curse: “May you live in interesting times”.  The other two are - “May you come to the attention of those in authority”, and “May the gods give you everything you ask for” (this is considered the worst of the three).
